In English, "pura vida" translates literally to "pure life" or "simple life," but in Costa Rica it is a way of life, an attitude, and a national philosophy centered on gratitude, peace, and community.

Please note that non-urgent requests may be addressed the following business day.
House Rules
* Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property and on balconies or terraces.
* Any evidence of smoking may result in an additional cleaning fee.
* Pets are not permitted unless previously authorized.
* Illegal activities of any kind are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate eviction without refund.
* Please do not move furniture.
* Respect neighboring properties by keeping noise levels reasonable at all times.
* Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
* Only registered guests are permitted on the property unless prior approval has been obtained.
Parking
You can park next to the casita stairs or in front of the garage. As the house is located inside a neighborhood please always make sure the other villas can access.
Energy & Water Conservation
Costa Rica values its natural resources. Please help us conserve energy and water by:
* Turning off air conditioning units when leaving the property.
* Keeping doors and windows closed while air conditioning is running.
* Turning off lights and fans when not in use.
* Reporting any leaks or maintenance issues promptly.

Cleaning
The house has been professionally cleaned before your arrival. If you have any cleaning issues upon arrival, please contact us immediately. Housekeeping is available during your stay (for an additional fee, please schedule with customer service). During your stay, please keep the house clean and tidy. Some cleaning products will be provided.
Trash
Please help us dispose of your trash in the bin. There is one bin in the garage and the outside trash bin is down the road with letters "Casa de Rock". Trash collection happens every Tuesday and Friday morning (early).
Supplies
To ensure your comfort upon arrival, we provide a starter supply of coffee, paper towels, some toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, laundry detergent, disinfectant, and plastic bags. We do not provide additional supplies, so please purchase them if you need them during your stay. Previous guests may have left additional non-perishable items; please feel free to use them during your stay. We have made every effort to stock the kitchen with everything you need. If you need dishes, cooking utensils, or other kitchen items, please let us know.
AC
The AC will cool the home comfortably when set to 77 degrees (25 degrees C). Please ensure that NO doors or windows are left open while the AC or heating units are running. Please turn off ACs at checkout or if you are going to be out of the property for more than a few hours.
TV
The televisions are Smart TVs with applications that you can use your own accounts with.
Owner Closets
There may be marked closets and rooms in the house that are locked. Please do not attempt to open them as they contain the owner's personal items. If you need something that you cannot find, please contact us and we will do our best to help you out.
Golf Cart Instructions
Battery Access & Charging
* Lift the second seat to access the battery.
* The charging cable is already connected to the battery. Simply plug it into the extension cord located on the garage floor next to the golf cart.
* The key should be in the OFF position while charging.
Battery Power
* To turn the battery on, press the single button located on the side of the battery.
* Once the battery is on, the display near the steering wheel will light up and show the battery status.
* The battery can remain ON throughout your stay. There is no need to turn it off between uses.
* The battery should only be turned OFF if the cart will not be used for several days.
Battery Charge Indicator
* The battery percentage display is only accurate when the golf cart is stopped. This is normal and not a malfunction.
* While the cart is moving, the displayed percentage may fluctuate and should not be relied upon.
* For best results, do not allow the battery level to drop below 40%.
* The most reliable charge reading can be found on the small display located at the upper left of the steering wheel when the cart is not moving.
Driving Guidelines
* To avoid running low on power, please limit trips to Potrero or Brasilito and back.
* The cart is a refurbished unit and may occasionally require a simple restart.
If the Cart Shuts Off
* When driving on steep hills, especially with a full battery, the cart may occasionally shut off unexpectedly.
* If this happens:
1. Stop the golf cart safely.
2. Remove the key.
3. Reinsert the key.
4. Start the cart again.
This simple reboot should resolve the issue.
Before Departure
* please clean the golfcart
* Please plug the cart in and fully charge it before leaving.
* After charging, unplug it from the wall.
* Press the battery button to turn the battery OFF before your departure.
Other Info
* It is a secure neighborhood but does not have private security, so we recommend always keeping the doors and windows closed and locked.
* Please avoid opening the windows as the locks sometimes are not closing properly
* Please use the provided sticks to lock the window doors.
* Pool Cleaning is happening Tuesdays and Saturdays by a profesional company
* Garden maintenance and pool area cleaning is happening Wednesdays and Fridays by a profesional company
* Feel free to use the gas barbecue but be aware that you would need a lightner as the botton is not working. We provide some lightners in the kitchen drawers. It is hard to determine the level of gas in the tank and we would do our best to replace it quickly if it runs out of gas. Also please leave the barbecue clean when you leave. Thanks and enjoy !
Check-Out Reminder
Checkout is 10:00 A.M. If you would like a late check-out, you must contact us, and an additional fee may apply. Before checking out of the house please throw all trash in the garbage cans. You can leave sheets on the bed and towels in the bathrooms. Make sure all windows are closed and all doors are closed and locked. If you have been using an Air Conditioning unit, please turn all AC units off. Please check for all your belongings. A shipping charge will apply for any items that need to be mailed back to you.
Return keys as instructed in the lock box.
Keep your calm
As this is a home in tropical Costa Rica you may occasionally see insects, geckos or other wildlife despite our regular professional pest-control treatments. These are a natural part of the local environment and tropical experience.
